Several regions in West Java have been struck by natural disasters since the start of this year as thousands of residents evacuate due to floods and landslides.

According to the West Java Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), 1,643 residents have been evacuated due to major flooding since Jan. 1 in Karawang regency, which has impacted four districts and five villages.
Meanwhile, more than 1,700 residents have been displaced due to landslides around the foot of Mount Anaga in Purwakarta regency, which occurred on Thursday.
Acting Purwakarta regent Benni Irwan has advised people living near the impacted area to evacuate due to the threat of a follow-up landslide.
“For the sake of safety and security, I advise citizens around the impacted areas to evacuate,” Benni said as quoted by Antara news agency.
In Cimahi city, several houses were hit by flooding, landslides and strong winds on Saturday.
The flooding occurred in several areas in Cimahi, inundating houses and causing traffic disruption on roads, leading to severe congestion.
