After being asked for a second time, most of the 18 political parties on the February ballot have submitted complete campaign funding reports to the General Elections Commission (KPU), leaving the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) and two others with incomplete or incorrect reports on file.
The first campaign fund report (LADK) is one of three that political parties are required to submit during and after the official campaign period for the February general election, which began in late November 2023.
The LADK report must include the party’s initial campaign funds, a list of campaign donations received and cash flow statements.
The KPU had set a Jan. 7 deadline for the parties to submit the reports, two weeks before the start of the last stage of the campaign period, where political parties and candidates will be allowed to hold mass rallies.
None of the 18 parties on the February ballot, however, submitted complete reports by the deadline. They were given until Friday to resubmit their reports, and 15 parties had had their new reports accepted by Monday.
The United Development Party (PPP), which has seats in the House of Representatives, and the Gelora Party, which has none, submitted complete reports, but the KPU discovered a “mismatch” between the figures in the reports and its other measures of the parties’ campaign coffers and expenditures.
The PSI, meanwhile, submitted an “incomplete and mismatched” report, the KPU said.
