a href="https://hellosehat.com/10-kebiasaan-kecil-yang-membuat-kulit-wajah-cepat-keriput/">Wrinkles make you look old and unsightly? You want to get rid of them and rejuvenate your skin, but you do not know what kind of treatment is suitable for your individual needs? The following is information you might need.

What causes wrinkles?

Wrinkles appear as one of the signs of aging. Normally, after the age of 35, they start to come into sight. Wrinkles are lines or creases that may be deep or shallow depending on many factors. The parts of your body, where wrinkles can be obviously noticeable, are around the eyes, mouth and neck.

When your skin loosens and sags because of a lack of collagen and elastin, wrinkles appear. Besides the internal factors that may reduce elastin and collagen production, some external effects presented hereafter also contribute significantly to cause wrinkles.

Ultraviolet light: The radiation contained in ultraviolet light may kill collagen and elastin, which are responsible for connecting tissues, making your skin lose its firmness and elasticity. UV radiation may cause skin cancer, especially in tropical nations, which is the reason why you should avoid sunlight or wear sunscreen and sunglasses to limit sun exposure when going out.

Smoking: Smoking can affect your blood circulation and reduce the amount of blood supplied to skin. Some studies even show that an enzyme contained in smoke may break up collagen and elastin.

Lack of sleepAdequate sleep is important to prevent wrinkles.

Treatments using medications

Wrinkles can be treated with some special medications.

Retinoids: This is a medication made of vitamin A that has two main types: tretinoin and tazarotene. Tretinoin is the only product for wrinkle treatment that the American Food and Drug Administration approves. Retinoids may reduce shallow wrinkles and makes skin smoother.

Vitamin C: Vitamin C can promote the collagen production that helps your skin become more tight and firm.

Pentapeptides: This product is suggested by the National Institutes of Health for collagen production.

Cosmetic procedures that can get rid of wrinkles

Undergoing cosmetic procedures is an effective way to reduce wrinkles. You can choose surgical or nonsurgical treatments provided they are done by fully qualified dermatologists.

Botox injections: Botox injections can relax the subcutaneous muscles; thus, the skin becomes smoother and wrinkles fade out. The result of this treatment may last from three to four months.,

Microdermabrasion:  This method helps you get rid of the very thin skin layer on your face so wrinkles disappear temporarily.

Face-lifts: This solution tightens the muscles and tissues underneath the skin. The effectiveness lasts about 10 years, but you should take proper care of yourself following the procedure.

Chemical peels: This treatment applies a type of acid to the loosening skin areas to damage the outer layer of the skin to remove wrinkles.

Laser treatments: The procedure can resurface your skin. The energy from a laser beam will get rid of the top layer of skin and burn out the underlying skin. It also stimulates the collagen production that helps your skin rejuvenate.

Fillers: Dermatologists use special substances to fill up wrinkles, which can make your skin smoother. The result of this treatment may last for a few months.

After these treatments, some side effects may appear. If they become serious, you should consult doctors for help. (kes)
