unch catering startup Kulina had the distinction of being the only Indonesian startup that was invited to join the fifth edition of the Google Launchpad Accelerator program in San Francisco, United States, this year.

The two-week program gave startups the opportunity to learn from Google product specialists from at least 30 teams across 24 countries.

"The boot camp started on Jan. 29 and lasted till Feb. 8 and was a very inspiring opportunity for our team. Hopefully our participation will be able to provide a positive boost to Indonesia's startup ecosystem," said Kulina CEO Andy Fajar Handika in Jakarta on Tuesday as quoted by tempo.co

"I got to receive training from mentors and Google [employees] from around the world and learn alongside other startups -- including unicorn [startup valued at over US$1 billion] ones," he added.

As a participant of the program, Kulina reportedly received $50,000 in equity-free financing to expand its business.

Google Launchpad Accelerator also provides credits for Google Cloud and complete access to a series of Google Launchpad initiatives.

The program itself is said to be part of the tech giant's initiative to encourage younger generations to innovate and pursue developing and entrepreneurial careers. (kes)
