etflix has unveiled the official trailer of its first original Indonesian film, The Night Comes for Us, which is scheduled to premiere on Oct. 19.

Directed and penned by Timo Tjahjanto, who previously handled Headshot and Sebelum Iblis Menjemput (Before the Devil Comes for You), the action flick follows the story of Ito (Joe Taslim), a former triad member whose mission is to protect a little girl as his way to redeem himself amid feelings of guilt. His decision later triggers a conflict in his former group. The movie also features Iko Uwais, Zack Lee, Sunny Pang, Julie Estelle, Dian Sastrowardoyo, Dimas Anggara, Abimana Aryasatya and Hannah Al Rashid.

Although not officially announced yet, the action-packed film may be made into a trilogy. “Thank you cast and crew for working hard to make this film happen,” wrote Timo Tjahjanto on his Instagram account. “I’m grateful it was well received and hopefully [it] can be the first of a trilogy.”

The Night Comes for Us has been screened at the 2018 Sitges Film Festival in Spain, which ran from Oct. 5-7, and at the 2018 Fantastic Fest in the United States, held from Sept. 23-25. (wir/wng)
