Online game Mobile Legends introduces Kadita, a character inspired by Indonesia's mythical queen of the Southern Sea, popularly known as Nyai Roro Kidul.
nline game Mobile Legends has introduced a new hero named Kadita, a character inspired by Indonesia's mythical queen of the Southern Sea, who is popularly known as Nyai Roro Kidul.
"Based on the myth, Kadita is known as the ruler of the Southern Sea, with the power to control the weather, cause storms and tsunamis when she wants," Wira Sontana, operations manager at game company Moonton, said in a statement recently as quoted by Tempo.co.
Kadita, queen of the Southern Sea, is known for her beauty. She started as a princess from the Javanese Kingdom who is admired by everyone. As heir to the king, members of the royal family envied the princess and planned to overthrow Kadita by asking a witch to curse her.

The king had tried everything to cure his beloved daughter, but to no avail. Over time, the admiration for Kadita faded, as people began to hate her and accused her of being a cursed witch because of her terrible appearance, which caused Kadita to be expelled from the kingdom to prevent rumors about the royal family.
"Then Kadita uses seven legendary spears, as only she could summon all seven at once," Wira said. "We are also to hold various activities to celebrate the arrival of Kadita, the queen of the Southern Sea."
After that, Kadita was cornered by the royal soldiers. She jumped into the Southern Sea as a last resort. However, Kadita is saved by the sea devil. With the Trident of the Seas, the devil is able to break the strong curse over Kadita. From that day on, Kadita became the legendary queen of the Southern Sea and acted as a ruler.
Mobile Legends is to release the hero on Dec. 18, with several teasers already revealed showing Kadita as a hero, adding to the list of Indonesian legend-inspired characters in Mobile Legend: Bang Bang. (liz/wng)
