arriott International is holding the annual Ayo Makan by Marriott Bonvoy food festival for its third year, this time with the theme of street food.
The festival, available from Nov. 15 to Jan. 15, 2020, involves 39 Marriott properties and their chefs, serving local Indonesian street food based on traditional recipes.
“This year, we choose street food as our main theme because everybody loves authentic and signature street food that is close to their hearts. Good food is very often, simple food,” Ricarda Schneider, Marriott area director of operations for Indonesia, said in a statement.

Dishes showcased during the festival include nasi kucing (rice with various sides wrapped in paper or banana leaves) at Sheraton Mustika Yogyakarta Resort & Spa, nasi goreng rica roa (spicy fried rice) at Four Points by Sheraton Manado in North Sulawesi, Nasi Ayam Bu Oki (chicken rice) at The Westin Resort Nusa Dua in Bali, beverages made from Bawang Dayak (Eleutherine bulbosa) at Four Points by Sheraton Balikpapan in East Kalimantan and es doger (shaved ice beverage with black glutinous rice) at JW Marriott Jakarta.
The Ayo Makan cart can also be found in other Marriott properties such as The Westin Jakarta. Sheraton Bandung Hotel & Towers in Bandung, West Java, Fairfield by Marriott Surabaya in East Java, Le Meridien Bali Jimbaran in Bali and many more.
An event set to officially open the food festival will be held on Wednesday at Aloft Jakarta Wahid Hasyim in Central Jakarta and on Friday at Fairfield by Marriott Bali Kuta Sunset Road. (vel/kes)
