ith the increased use of video calling as people stay at home as a result of the still alarming pandemic, messaging platform LINE has expanded the maximum number of people that can be on the same audio or video call to 500.

Previously, the platform could only accommodate up to 200 people per video call.

According to a statement received by The Jakarta Post on Friday, the new feature is already available for free and without time limit for users of LINE mobile app version 10.9.0 or higher, or version 6.1.0 or higher for desktop users.

To make a group call with a large number of participants, users can start by creating a group on the platform and then inviting others to join.

During the video call, users can swipe the upper part of the screen to see the face of each participant. They can also share their screen or invite other members to watch a YouTube video together, as well as store data such as images, videos or chat to the LINE chatroom by pressing the "Keep" icon located on the upper right.

Launched in June 2011, LINE has grown into a global ecosystem with various services, including artificial intelligence and fintech. (kes)
