An online philosophy festival called Philofest ID will be held from Dec. 7 to Dec. 13 on Zoom and YouTube.

The festival is free and open to the public.

With the theme of “The World after Pandemic: Philosophy from the Future”, Philofest ID will respond to the COVID-19 pandemic and rethink and question the meaning of life.

In an online press conference on Friday, Philofest ID director Syarif Maulana said the festival aimed to increase the synergy within the Indonesian philosophical scene, as well as create a conducive atmosphere for critical and reflective thinking in Indonesia.

The festival’s speakers will cover topics such as post-pandemic life seen from the perspectives of various branches of philosophy, the development of philosophy in Indonesia and the philosophical agenda for the future. Speakers will encourage the public to get involved in conversations to develop the philosophical ecosystem in the country.

“They are from all over Indonesia,” he said.
