AKARTA: The annual big event in the city, the Jakarta Fair, will kick off at the Pekan Raya Jakarta (PRJ) in Kemayoran in Central Jakarta from June 11 to July 12.
Siti Hartati Murdaya, the president director of PT Jakarta International Expo, said she hoped the number of visitors would increase to over four million from 3.1 million visitors last year.
"We have not increased the entrance fee and will still supply a shuttle bus service to attract visitors," she said.
The entrance fee will be Rp 15,000 (US$1.5) during working days and Rp 20,000 at the weekend.
Siti said she was afraid the current global financial crisis would drag the sales of automotive products down, which contributed a significant portion of last year's Rp 2.5 trillion revenue.
