K-based international property consultancy firm Savills has strengthened its presence in Asia, with Jakarta becoming one of its investment destinations.

The property consultancy firm has established an office in Jakarta following the opening of an office in Myanmar.

According to Connect.com, Savills officially inaugurated the opening of PT Savills Consultants Indonesia (SCI) on May 11. In its operations in Indonesia, Savills has teamed up with local partner Property Connection Indonesia.

SCI will be headed by Jeffrey Hong, who will be a member of the board of commissioners.

'I am delighted to be opening our latest office in Asia Pacific, in Jakarta. This follows closely on our recent opening in Myanmar and further office openings in China and Taiwan, and is a testament to our commitment to continued growth in Asia,' said Savills Southeast Asia CEO and board director Chris Marriott.

He explained that the opening of the new Jakarta office formalized the partnership with one of the world's leading property firms and Indonesian property company Connection Indonesia.

Marriott said that PCI had an established position in the local market and a strong reputation for retail consultancy and leasing services.

'This in line with our strategy to develop a long-term presence in markets where we see growth potential and an opportunity to provide international advisory services to local clients,' said Savills plc group chief executive Jeremy Helsby.
