ollowing a one-week search, the police arrested on Sunday a legislative candidate from the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), identified as AH, for allegedly molesting his daughter for years.

West Pasaman Police officers arrested AH in Pauh subdistrict in Padang, West Sumatra.

“We caught him in Pauh, Padang while he was waiting for a car that would drive him away from Padang. But before the car came we arrested him,” West Pasaman criminal investigation unit head Adj. Sr. Comr. Iman Pribadi Santoso said on Sunday as quoted by kompas.com.

Iman said AH left West Pasaman when his case began to unfold. He fled to Jakarta, then moved to Depok, West Java.

“On Saturday our team went to Depok and worked with the local police [to arrest AH]. But unfortunately AH had ran from Depok to Padang with land transportation,” he added.

After escaping the police, the team continued its search and finally arrested him in Pauh.

AH’s 17-year-old daughter recently opened up to her mother about the sexual abuse she claimed to have endured at the hands of her father since she was in her third year of elementary school.

AH’s wife reported the case to West Pasaman Police on March. 7. (hol)
