22-year-old identified as Steven Saulus Kevin died on Friday after he was allegedly attacked by a group of men in Ciputat, South Tangerang, Banten.
The incident took place at around 2 a.m. on Jl. Palapa. The victim was drinking coffee with a friend when he was approached by dozens of young men who had driven up on seven motorcycles, according to South Tangerang Police criminal investigation chief Police Adj. Comr. Alexander Yurikho.
The victim reportedly got into an argument with the group before he was stabbed repeatedly.
The suspects immediately fled the scene.
“Witnesses rushed the victim to the South Tangerang General Hospital,” he told Kompas.com on Sunday.
He later succumbed to his wounds and died.
Meanwhile, three witnesses have filed a report to the Ciputat Police.
“We are still searching for the perpetrators,” Alexander said. (das)
