Nong-O set to defend Muay Thai throne at ONE Fight Night 6 ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nong-O Gaiyanghadao

NE Championship’s bantamweight king will be stepping back into the Circle to defend his throne yet again at ONE Fight Night 6.

Striking legend Nong-O Gaiyanghadao is set to put his Muay Thai strap on the line against former ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Champion Alaverdi Ramazanov on Jan. 14, 2023 at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.

The World Bantamweight Muay Thai Champion has been unstoppable since his ONE debut in 2018, with a perfect 9-0 record that includes winning the world title in only his third appearance in the Circle and knockout finishes in his last four fights.

Nong-O's most recent appearance saw him take out British striking pioneer Liam Harrison in the second round of their bout in August at ONE Fight Night 1: Moraes vs. Johnson II.

That win marked the Thai phenom’s second successful world title defense this year, after he finished Brazil’s Felipe Lobo with an uppercut in the third round of their meeting at ONE X in March.

Nong-O's upcoming challenger offers a threat to his throne, though. Ramazanov has held ONE’s kickboxing gold before and he is currently the No. 2-ranked bantamweight Muay Thai contender.

The Russian star earned his shot at the world title by scoring back-to-back wins in his last two outings in the division, overcoming Capitan Petchtyindee and Pongsiri P.K. Saenchai by utilizing his ruthless speed and heavy striking arsenal.

The 27-year-old is up against Nong-O’s pressure, expertise and years of experience, but if he can find a gap in the bantamweight Muay Thai king’s seemingly impenetrable armor, he could hand him his first loss in the Circle.

Before their Muay Thai World Title matchup goes down, be sure not to miss ONE Fight Night 4: Abbasov vs. Lee on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Tickets can be purchased at Ticketmaster SG.
