The next government’s efforts to achieve an economic growth rate of 8 percent, is believed to be an important measure to escape the middle-income trap that is needed for economic growth of at least above 6-7 percent, said Investment Minister and chairman of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Roeslani during a meeting with Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, on Aug. 27.
In a strategic meeting aimed at bolstering bilateral economic relations, Indonesian investment minister and chairman of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Rosan Roeslani, shared his goal to significantly increase Singapore's investment in Indonesia, surpassing the current benchmark of US$63.17 billion. This figure reflects the cumulative investment received from Singapore from 2019 to June 2024, accounting for 29.8 percent of Indonesia's total foreign direct investment (FDI).
