View all search resultsThe European Central Bank raised interest rates for the ninth consecutive time on Thursday and said it was open-minded about further tightening as stubbornly high inflation and recession worries pull policymakers in opposing directions.
The International Monetary Fund called on the European Central Bank on Friday to keep raising interest rates until the middle of 2024 and on EU finance ministers to tighten fiscal policy, in concerted action to bring down high inflation.
