At least four potential names for the next chairman of the United Development Party (PPP) have emerged, including former tourism minister Sandiaga Uno, as the party seeks to reform after its first big election blow.
Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga S. Uno has urged micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to take advantage of the opportunities presented by the digital economy, which is estimated to reach US$110 billion by 2025, while assuring MSMEs that the government was working continuously to ensure their protection and fair competition so their businesses could grow.
The tourism minister says the presidential regulation on a new tourism fund is almost complete and hopes it will be issued before President Jokowi's term ends in October so the fund is up and running by next year to draw more foreign visitors to the country.
