View all search resultsA new pact to facilitate the safe transfer of EU citizens' personal data to the United States might not come into force in time to avoid a suspension of Facebook's transatlantic data flows, the US firm's lead European regulator said on Tuesday.
The government is back in the spotlight for failing to protect citizens’ data following an alleged breach of COVID-19 tracking app PeduliLindungi – the second apparent hack of a state database since a national privacy law was enacted in October.
The bill's passage comes after a series of data leaks and probes into alleged breaches at government firms and institutions in Indonesia, from a state insurer, telecoms company and public utility to a contact-tracing COVID-19 app that revealed President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo's vaccine records.
