View all search resultsX has reassured the government that its artificial intelligence chatbot, Grok, will not be able to be used for pornographic purposes and enforce accounts found of misusing the platform for illicit purposes, according to Communications and Digital Ministry.
The "Edit Image" button feature first rolled out in late December on Grok allows users to modify any image on the platform, with some users deciding to partially or completely remove clothing from women or children in pictures, according to complaints.
The case began earlier this month when a social media user shared deepfake pornographic videos featuring the faces of teachers and students from SMAN 11 Semarang on X, using the caption “Scandal Smanse,” referring to the school’s nickname.
The ITU called for robust standards to combat manipulated multimedia and recommended that content distributors such as social media platforms use digital verification tools to authenticate images and videos before sharing.
