View all search resultsAs new clusters of COVID-19 transmission continue to emerge in industrial areas in Bekasi regency, West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil has urged factory workers to report their daily activities in a bid to reduce the transmission risk.
"Around 5,800 companies have been granted permits by the ministry. In total, these companies employ almost 1.6 million workers," said West Java Trade and Industry Agency head Mohammad Arifin Soedjayana.
More than 500 garment factories in Bangladesh that supply to global brands reopened on Monday after a month-long shutdown to curb the spread of the coronavirus, while in India calls grew for an easing of its lockdown which has caused deep economic pain.
