View all search resultsThe rockers, who shot to fame in the mid-1990s Britpop era, reeled off a string of their biggest hits in front of a 74,000-strong crowd in the Welsh capital on Friday, leaving those there in raptures.
The Britpop band announced their comeback this week to much fanfare, 15 years after they broke up when lead guitarist and main songwriter Noel Gallagher said he could no longer work with frontman and brother Liam after a number of public spats.
Noel Gallagher denied the rumor that he had declined an offer of 100 million pounds to go back on a reunion tour. Instead, he said he would immediately reunite the band and jump on a tour bus if offered that much money. Liam says he would do it for nothing.
Leading musical lights including Elton John, The Who's Roger Daltry and classical conductor Simon Rattle wrote in The Times newspaper that the government's failure to secure visa-free travel for musicians would "tip many performers over the edge".
