View all search resultsThe Jakarta Post has compiled a list of funds allocated by the government for medical needs, workers, households and businesses to cope with COVID-19, based on information from the Office of the Coordinating Economic Minister and the Finance Ministry as of March 30.
Indonesia is set to support manufacturers with the capacity to produce the desperately needed protective gear, test kits and ventilators that are crucial in the worldwide global fight against COVID-19 as G20 nations pledge to focus on saving lives.
"We hope that the issuance of the Trade Ministry regulation can accelerate the entry of medical tools needed during the COVID-19 pandemic so that the availability of tools is fulfilled and there are no shortages," Trade Minister Agus Suparmanto said.
The medical equipment includes disposable masks, N-95 masks, protective clothing, goggles, gloves, shoe covers, infrared thermometers and surgical caps, which will be used by the country’s doctors and fast-response team for COVID-19.
