View all search resultsThe Jakarta Police have clarified their plan to fine motorists using navigation apps. The police’s traffic chief, Sr. Comr. Halim Pagarra, said such practices would not constitute a traffic violation if motorists used built-in navigation systems.
After canceling the controversial plan to fine motorists listening to music or smoking while driving, the Jakarta Police’s traffic division chief Sr. Comr. Halim Pagarra said on Sunday the police would instead crack down on drivers using their cell phones.
According to statistics released by the United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on Friday, there have been 60 percent more searches of cell phones, laptops and other electronic devices at airports and border crossings during the government’s 2017 fiscal year as compared to the previous year.
