View all search resultsA special task force authorized to take down all non-credible news portals was officially established on Friday after a long-standing plan. The task force is formed jointly by the Communications and Information Ministry and the Press Council.
The Indonesian Press Council has ruled that daily newspaper Indopos violated its Code of Ethics by spreading misinformation in an article about incumbent President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s plans after the April election.
Tempo magazine chief editor Arif Zulkifli, former Warta Kota daily deputy chief editor Hendry Ch Bangun and MNC News Channel chief editor Jamalul Insan will represent journalists at the council. Former education minister Mohammad Nuh is a representative of the public.
