View all search resultsWest Java Governor Ridwan Kamil has urged Jakarta residents to refrain from visiting Puncak, a tourist area in Ciawi in Bogor regency, West Java, following reports that the area was packed with tourists over the weekend.
Ernan Rustiadi, a public planning expert from Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), said that the Rindu Alam restaurant was built on an area of major environmental significance; thus, it was controlled under Bogor’s land use and spatial regulation scheme.
The implementation of a 2-1 traffic scheme on Jl. Raya Puncak in Bogor regency, West Java, showed mixed results during a trial on Sunday. While Puncak-bound traffic flowed faster, people returning from the popular tourist destination were trapped in severe congestion.
Some efforts have been made and plans considered to address the congestion, including the launch on Saturday of a tourist shuttle bus service to Taman Safari Indonesia by a major taxi firm, PT Blue Bird Tbk, in collaboration with the Greater Jakarta Transportation Agency (BPTJ).
