Biden is expected to outline progress on IPEF which will bring together three of the world's largest five economies -- the United States, Japan and India -- as well as Australia, South Korea and much of Southeast Asia, but not China.
The two sides have not formally announced the date but have made arrangements to hold the meeting on the sidelines of the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit, which the United States is hosting, according to a US official and a Washington-based diplomat, both speaking on condition of anonymity.
Nightmarish traffic and high living costs were already causing disenchantment even before the pandemic spoiled the serendipity of the northern California destination for top talent. Droughts and rampant wildfires have also taken a toll.
With so many bad news coming out of America today, most of us who have long admired its economic and technological achievement, feared its military prowess and been mesmerized by its popular culture, now certainly have a hard time figuring out what has become of the world's greatest superpower.
