The Foreign Ministry said in a statement that President Jokowi and Prime Minister Lee would discuss a variety of issues, from the digital economy to health and renewable energies.

Shortly before arriving in Singapore, President Jokowi posted a tweet from his handle @jokowi that his meeting with Lee would pick up on what was left from last year's leader's retreat on Bintan island, Riau Islands province.

"This morning I am headed to Singapore to meet Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. One year ago, Prime Minister Lee came to Indonesia to attend the annual meeting in Bintan, Riau Islands. This year's leader's retreat is being held in Singapore," Jokowi said. 

Last year, President Jokowi and Prime Minister Lee's meeting in Bintan was the first after a two-year pause due to the pandemic.

The 2022 meeting resulted in the signing of agreements to realign the Flight Information Region (FIR), revision to the extradition treaty and renewing a commitment to fulfill an existing defense cooperation agreement (DCA).

During the meeting, Indonesia and Singapore also exchanged letters that would lock in the three major deals to come into force simultaneously.
