urkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Jakarta’s Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport on Tuesday evening on the second stop in his three-country tour, welcomed personally by President Prabowo Subianto, who escorted him in a convoy to his residence.
Receiving a red carpet welcome at the rainy airport, Erdogan and his wife Emine were met with a military ceremony, a six-gun salute and the Indonesian Military (TNI) march “Genderang Kemenangan” playing in the background.
The two leaders are scheduled to hold an official bilateral meeting on Wednesday at the Bogor Palace in West Java.
“This state visit is an important step in strengthening the bilateral relationship between Indonesia and Turkey. It is hoped that this visit will bring about positive impacts on the advancement of both countries,” a release from the Presidential Secretariat said.
