This year's International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) welcomed participants from 80 countries.
ndonesian students secured one gold, one silver and two bronze medals at this year’s International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) held in Rudolfinum, Prague, on July 19-29.
According to kompas.com, the gold medal came from Ong Christoper Ivan Wijaya, a student of SMA YSKI Christian high school in Semarang, Central Java, while Abdullah Muqaddam from Islamic state senior high school MAN Insan Cendekia in Serpong, Banten, brought home the silver.
The two bronze medalists are Rizki Kurniawan from state high school SMAN 1 Kota Metro in Lampung and Muhammad Syaiful Islam from state high school SMA Cindera Mata Kota Bekasi, West Java.

Last year’s event, which was held in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand, saw Indonesian students earn one gold medal and three silver medals.
This year's competition welcomed participants from 80 countries. Each participating country was allowed to send up to four students, who were tested on their theoretical knowledge and skills through laboratory tests. (saz/kes)
