T

he Youth and Sports Ministry will establish a dedicated undersecretary position focused on the sports industry as part of a structural overhaul.

“As a part of the Youth and Sports Ministry’s short-term plan, there are going to be a few structural changes, including adding a new undersecretary role for the sports industry,” Youth and Sports Minister Dito Ariotedjo said on Monday after his re-appointment in an inauguration ceremony held at the Presidential Palace, according to footage posted on the ministry’s YouTube channel.

The ministry’s priority would be to complete the construction of training facilities for 14 Olympic sports, he added, including an elite training center for young athletes in Cibubur, East Jakarta, which was set to become operational by the end of the year.
