Prabowo to appoint Basuki as IKN Authority head
President Prabowo Subianto is set to name the current interim Nusantara Capital City (IKN) Authority head, Basuki Hadimuljono, as the body’s definitive head as he looks to conclude the project in four years.

resident Prabowo Subianto is set to name the current interim head of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) Authority, Basuki Hadimuljono, as the body’s definitive head as he looks to conclude the project in four years.
State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi announced the decision on Sunday has he briefed reporters during a four-day cabinet retreat in Magelang, Central Java.
Prasetyo said that “Basuki was asked to continue” his job at the IKN Authority but refrained from divulging details on the appointment, such as when Basuki would commence his new role.
Basuki, who served as public works and housing minister in the last administration, was installed as the interim head in June following the unexplained resignation of the previous head, Bambang Susantono.
Basuki is a technocrat with decades of experience in the field of infrastructure development. He served as a minister throughout former president Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s 10-year tenure but failed to make the cut into Prabowo’s cabinet.

After his inauguration as the IKN Authority’s interim head, Basuki said his job was to focus on accelerating investment, in particular by clarifying the status of land being developed, so that investors would not hesitate to participate in the Nusantara project.
