T

he Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Task Force (SKK Migas) is ramping up efforts to boost national oil and gas output, with 15 projects targeted to come onstream in 2025. As of the end of July, four of those projects have begun production.

“For 2025, our target is for 15 projects to go onstream. Thank God, four are already onstream, and the remaining 11 will be onstream before the end of 2025,” SKK Migas spokesperson Hudi Suryodipuro said during a media briefing in Jakarta on Friday, as reported by Kontan.

The four operational projects are the Letang Tengah Rawa expansion conducted by Medco E&P Grissik Ltd. and the Terubuk project by Medco E&P Natuna Ltd, both belonging to Medco Energi, as well as the Balam GS upgrade by Pertamina subsidiary Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) and the BUIC C14 project run by ExxonMobil Cepu Ltd.

“These early onstream projects are a positive step, but we are maintaining momentum,” Hudi said, hinting that operations were set to begin soon on another project.

“Stay tuned next week, it’s Tuesday, and one will be coming onstream. This is a follow-up to the projects that just came onstream this year.”

Hudi went on to say that an official announcement would be made following confirmation from Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia.
