Prudential Indonesia has officially launched PRUPriority Hospitals with 142 partner hospitals and healthcare facilities.

PT Prudential Life Assurance (Prudential Indonesia) and PT Prudential Sharia Life Assurance (Prudential Syariah) continue to strengthen their commitment to customer protection by introducing cutting-edge services to enhance the effectiveness and professionalism of healthcare services that provide added value through PRUPriority Hospitals, enabling customers to #WalkWithConfidence and gain protection for the future.

Currently, we are facing the challenge of rising medical costs, as cited in the latest survey by Mercer Marsh Benefits. Healthcare costs in Indonesia are predicted to continue increasing by 13.6 percent in 2023. This prediction even exceeds the medical inflation projection in Asia of 11.5 percent and surpasses Indonesia's financial inflation of 5.5 percent in 2022. Additionally, the Indonesian Life Insurance Association (AAJI) reports a significant increase of 35.3 percent in health insurance claims payments in the first half of 2023. Furthermore, another challenge in Indonesia is the absence of a national policy on maximum medical service tariffs. These factors contribute to the potential increase in treatment costs and differences in treatment rates.

Michellina Laksmi Triwardhany, president director of Prudential Indonesia, said, "Prudential introduces the PRUPriority Hospitals innovation as part of our commitment to maintaining customer trust while supporting the government's efforts to enhance transparency, accountability and efficiency in healthcare services, especially regarding the health insurance claims verification process. This innovation coincides with Prudential Indonesia's 28th anniversary, demonstrating our tangible steps in protecting all generations of the Indonesian population through leading-edge service and protection products centered on our customers."

PRUPriority Hospitals respond to the changing needs of the population, market conditions and healthcare costs over time. Its goal is to ensure that customers always have the best opportunities to benefit from leading and continuous healthcare protection under their insurance policies. Specifically, PRUPriority Hospitals aim to provide superior and comprehensive protection by offering added value to customers, including efficient claims approval processes, transparent cost estimates for treatment in accordance with clinical pathways at hospitals and enhanced evidence-based healthcare services.

Continuing the discussion, Dr. Dian Budiani, chief operations and health officer of Prudential Indonesia, mentioned that the majority of Prudential Indonesia's customers have health benefits in their insurance policies.

"When customers decide to purchase health insurance products, they expect to receive comfort when receiving medical care, whether it's for outpatient, pre- and post-hospitalization or inpatient care. We periodically review the claims assurance process for our customers and have decided to simplify the process so that inpatient care can be discharged more quickly without waiting for the final guarantee letter. This is important so that customers can recover at home more swiftly," said Dian.

Therefore, Prudential has partnered with various selected hospitals and healthcare facilities to ensure the quality of insurance services with additional criteria that will enhance the efficiency of the claims process, ensuring the best curation, including cost transparency and better and faster service for customers.

To date, the PRUPriority Hospitals program has established strategic partnerships with 142 hospitals and healthcare facilities located in 20 provinces. These strategic partnerships will continue to expand nationally to maintain and enhance the trust and service that has been built over nearly three decades. These partnerships involve agreements on treatment cost estimates to expedite the verification of medical treatments for Prudential customers. These initial steps will be followed by further discussions with various other hospitals to continue to facilitate access for customers.

"We will continue to strengthen our commitment to delivering high-quality innovative services by listening, understanding and realizing continuous protection for every life and for the future," concluded Michellina.
