ervous Indonesia managed to hold powerhouse Vietnam 2-2 in their friendly soccer match at Maguwoharjo Stadium in Sleman, Yogyakarta, on Sunday.
In the first half, Vietnam, which outclassed North Korea 5-2 in a similar match in Hanoi on Thursday, offered a fast-playing approach, with Van Than getting to the back of the host’s net in the fourth minute and Minh Tuan Vu doing the same in the 12th minute.
The host team immediately fought back, catching up with one goal by Zulham Zamrun in the 27th minute, which was later followed perfectly by striker Irfan Bachdim in the 28th to level the match.
Neither team scored for the rest of the match.
The friendly was part of both teams’ preparations ahead of the 2016 Asian Football Federation (AFF) Cup, which will run in November and December in Myanmar and the Philippines.
