Martini, 21, said she went to watch horror movie Annabelle Comes Home and was seated near people who had brought along their toddler.
The movie was R-rated (teenager) by Indonesia’s Film Censorship Institute (LSF) with a minimum recommended age of 13 years.
She said she watched the movie in a 4:45 p.m. screening a few weeks ago at BSD Plaza in South Tangerang, Banten, and found herself seated right next to one of the parents with a toddler.
“The toddler was a bit cranky during the movie, so the mother scolded her toddler; they were seated right next to me,” the private company employee said.
She said she did not directly talk to the mother but signaled that she was annoyed about the mother bringing along her toddler to a horror movie screening.
She said that halfway, through the movie, the toddler finally stopped making a fuss and the mother remained seated until the movie ended.
