View all search resultsOne of the possible witnesses is Adj. Comr. Sulman Aziz, a former Pasirwangi Police chief in Garut, West Java, who said in March that the top brass of the local police had ordered him to direct people in the regency to vote for Jokowi.
The protests, originally driven by supporters of losing presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto, descended into deadly riots as more violent groups became involved, leaving at least eight people dead and hundreds injured, including journalists and humanitarian workers.
Those who attended the meeting included West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil, Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo, East Java Deputy Governor Emil Dardak, Banyuwangi Regent Azwar Anas and West Nusa Tenggara Governor Zulkiflimansyah.
