View all search resultsAccording to IDI data, which was released on Saturday, the total figure comprised 192 doctors, 14 dentists and 136 nurses. The deceased doctors were 101 general practitioners (including four professors), 89 specialists (seven professors) and two residents.
As long as local transmission still occurred and resulted in a high number of daily confirmed COVID-19 cases, doctors and other medical workers would continue to face a high risk of contracting the virus, said Indonesian Medical Association (IDI) spokesperson Halik Malik.
