View all search resultsSeveral students of the Indonesian Islamic University (UII) in Yogyakarta have expressed disappointment over the news that former student Ibrahim Malik, who had been accused of sexual assault at home and abroad, has been found to have not breached any policies of the University of Melbourne in Australia where he is currently pursuing his master’s degree under a prestigious scholarship.
In celebration of International Women’s Day (IWD) 2020, some 200 people paraded in Yogyakarta to protest against sexual violence against women in general – and at universities in their own city in particular.
Last year in March, nine people in the film industry started a campaign to make the film world a safer place. They are Jonathan Pasaribu, Agus Mediarta, Albertus Wida Wiratama, Amerta Kusuma, Arie Kartikasari, Lintang Gitomartoyo, Lisabona Rahman, Mazda Radita and Vauriz Bestika.
