View all search resultsState-owned energy company Pertamina, through its subsidiary Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) Offshore Southeast Sumatra (OSES), has been assisting the Thousand Islands administration in Jakarta to clean up the coagulated oil waste seen in the waters and beaches of some of the islands in the regency recently.
Pari Island Care Forum (FP3) chairman Mustahgfirin said the oil waste had polluted 2 kilometers of the southern coast of the island. If collected, he said, the waste could reach 50 tons.
Coagulated oil found on the beaches of Pari Island may have originated from ships sailing through Thousands Islands’ waters, Thousand Islands Environment Agency head Djoko Rianto Budi said recently.
Some 1,900 tourists reportedly visited Thousand Islands regency on the second weekend of June, which was the beginning of the capital's transition from large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) into the “new normal”.

The Indonesian crew members were transferred at sea to a hospital ship, which then sailed to about eight kilometers from Sebaru Kecil Island, arriving at 1 p.m. on Friday. Military landing craft then carried the Indonesians the rest of the way to Sebaru.
