View all search resultsWith infrastructure development crucial to the country’s achievement of its economic growth targets, a senior minister has called on universities across the country to contribute ideas on engineering and financing.
According to a joint study by researchers from James Cook University in Australia, the University of Indonesia and Mulawarman University in Samarinda, East Kalimantan, the completed highway and railway will “fragment and destroy cast areas of tropical rainforests on the island of Borneo”.
The government claims it has ensured the under-construction New Yogyakarta International Airport (NYIA) would have a good system for mitigating natural disasters, shrugging off experts’ concerns that it would be prone to earthquakes and tsunami.
