View all search resultsThe recent oil spill at the Offshore Northwest Java (ONWJ) Block, operated by state energy giant Pertamina, came at a time when the country’s largest oil and gas block operator is struggling to catch up with government production targets, creating tension between public institutions managing domestic oil and gas resources.

State-owned energy giant Pertamina has hired US-based well control company Boots & Coots, which handled the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, to handle the oil spill at its Offshore North West Java (ONWJ) block.
