The Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Ministry's Hiu Macan Tutul 02 patrol boat captured Malaysian-flagged fishing vessel KF 5152 caught illegally fishing in the Indonesian part of the Strait of Malacca on Sunday.

India, China close in on plan to end months of military standoff
Tensions have run high since June, when at least 20 Indian soldiers were killed after being attacked by Chinese troops using rocks and clubs. Indian officials say the Chinese troops had intruded across the disputed border in a remote valley. China said the Indian soldiers' actions had been provocative.

At least one killed in Papua gunfight
A joint military/police task force and a Papuan news website are issuing conflicting reports over the numbers and ages of civilians killed and injured in a gunfight on Tuesday. The task force claims to have killed one 18-year-old male, but the website is reporting that two males, a 12-year-old and a 51-year-old, were shot dead.
