View all search resultsThe Labuan Bajo Flores Tourism Authority (BPOLBF), in collaboration with the Labuan Bajo Vicariate, has released the Catholic Pilgrimage Travel Pattern in Labuan Bajo. This travel pattern is a follow-up to the webinar on the Potential and Strategy for Developing Catholic Pilgrimage Tourism in Flores, held on May 17, and the focus group discussion on July 5. The aim is to position Flores Island as a premier Catholic pilgrimage destination in Indonesia.
Among issues to be investigated by the House of Representatives' inquiry team on haj are alleged misallocation of this year's haj quota and reported poor facilities received by pilgrims in Arafah and Mina, Saudi Arabia, during the peak of the pilgrimage.
While millions of Muslims in Indonesia waited decades for their turn to go on the haj in Saudi Arabia, Tien Mulyanthi and her husband were fortunate to have their wait period shortened as they registered for the annual pilgrimage from the United Kingdom last year.
The Religious Affairs Ministry has warned Indonesians to not attempt the haj without holding the correct visa, as Saudi authorities turn away thousands of unregistered pilgrims from across the globe ahead of the haj, which begins next week.
