he Padang city administration is gearing up for the upcoming Idul Fitri holiday by installing various facilities at the Gunung Padang Integrated Tourism Park.  

Signboards were recently installed by the city administration to attract visitors to climb the ladder to Gunung Padang hill.

Moreover, visitors can now also use a pedestrian walkway connecting Cimpago and Muaro Lasak beaches. Antara reported that the two tourist attractions welcomed more than 10,000 visitors per day during the Idul Fitri holiday last year. As for the upcoming holiday, the two beaches look set to remain popular among tourists.

In addition to the walkway, the city administration is currently building a mosque on the beach as well as relocating the food sellers to a food court.

Padang culture and tourism department head Medi Iswandi said the integrated tourism park, which sits on 550 hectares of land, featured several attractions, namely Gunung Padang hill, Kawasan Muaro, as well as Air Manis, Cimpago and Muaro Lasak beaches.

These tourist spots offer both beautiful sceneries and interesting facilities, such as a selfie spot at the Indian Ocean Rim Association Monument on Cimpago Beach, children’s games and local dishes.

Air Manis Beach also offers various tourist activities, including four-wheel ATV rides, a turtle conservation center, Malin Kundang rock and trips to Pisang Island. (jes/wng)
