According to the national weather agency, torrential downpours are likely to occur in the coming days across several regions on all five major islands, as well as in Bali and West Nusa Tenggara.

In North Sumatra, a flash flood struck dozens of homes on Sunday in Parapat village, located along the shores of Lake Toba, a popular tourist destination in Simalungun regency.
Tuahta Ramajaya, head of the North Sumatra Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), said the flood struck at around 4 p.m. after three hours of heavy rainfall.
"While no casualties were reported, the flooding damaged 50 homes and severely disrupted the residents' daily activities," Tuahta said on Sunday.
Parapat resident Leonardo Sirait described how the floodwaters surged rapidly through both residential and commercial areas of the village, forcing many people to flee their homes.
"The muddy water rushed quickly into our homes, causing widespread panic," Leonardo said, adding that the flash flood was caused when the nearby Batu Gaga River overflowed.
He said this was the worst flood his village had experienced in years.
