escuers have concluded their search and rescue efforts for victims of the KMP Muchlisa ferry, after successfully recovering the bodies of two missing crew members on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The KMP Muchlisa ferry sank on Monday in Balikpapan Bay, East Kalimantan, about 1 kilometer from Penajam Port, after experiencing technical problems.

Head of the Balikpapan Search and Rescue Agency, Dody Setiawan, said rescuers recovered the body of the final missing crew member at around 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday. The body was found in a room near the car deck of the sunken vessel, 12 meters underwater.

"With this, we have located all the victims, and we are officially concluding the search and rescue operation," he said on Wednesday.

"Despite the limited water visibility, the entire team displayed exceptional professionalism and teamwork. I would like to express my deepest appreciation to everyone involved," Dody added.

Director of the Kalimantan Air and Water Police Unit Sr. Comr. Eduward Pardede said the Muchlisa departed from Karingau Port in Balikpapan around 2 p.m. and encountered a technical problem about an hour later.
