W. Java Police take over stampede case at wedding of governor’s son

he West Java Police have officially take over the stampede case at the wedding celebration for Garut deputy regent and West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi’s oldest son which killed three people.

Dedi’s oldest son Maula Akbar Mulyadi Putra tied the knot with Garut Deputy Regent Putri Karlina on Friday. The wedding celebration was held at the Garut Pendopo (Pavillion).

Maula is a member of the West Java Legislative Council while Putri is the daughter of Jakarta Police chief Insp. Gen. Karyoto.

Garut Police chief detective Adj. Comr. Joko Prihatin said that the handover was carried out on Sunday.

“The case was taken over by the West Java Police’ General Crimes Directorate yesterday [Sunday], Joko told reporters at Garut Police headquarters on Monday, as quoted by Kompas.com.

Joko said his detectives had questioned 10 witnesses before the case was transferred, consisting of the wedding organizer, security guards, Public Order Agency officers and several others who were present at the scene.
