Oppo claims that its A and F series phones were the key to the increase in the company's market share according to a written statement quoted by kompas.com.
“Some models, such as the A1k, A5s, F11 Special Online Edition and the F11Pro contributed significantly to the market share figure this quarter,” said Oppo Indonesia public relations manager Aryo Meidianto.
According to Canalys, retail sales in offline stores was Oppo’s key strategy.
“We felt that our strategy was very effective in offline and retail stores, leading Oppo to reach an achievement like this,” said Aryo agreeing with Canalys’ report.
Also stated in Canalys report is Xiaomi’s worse performance this quarter, with the Beijing-based phone manufacturer being placed third with a 19 percent market share and a 9 percent decrease yoy.
