Last week, graft watchdog Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) revealed that President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo's administration had spent at least Rp 90.4 billion from the state budget on digital activities involving social media influencers since 2017.
"We urge the government to stop the preemployment card program and we hope that the Ombudsman conducts an investigation related to the alleged maladministration in the program," Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) activist Tibiko Zabar said.
KPK spokesperson Ali Fikri said the KPK had conducted a virtual meeting with the Law and Human Rights Ministry on May 29 to discuss a revision of the government regulation on the salaries of the KPK chairman and his four deputy deputies.
Even if the people acknowledge his achievements by entrusting him with leading the country for five more years, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo should refrain from celebrating. He could end his current term in October on a low note, particularly regarding corruption eradication, now that three of his ministers have come on the radar of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
