View all search resultsAt least 70 Indonesian citizens, most of whom are students or those married to Lebanese nationals, refuse to be evacuated from Lebanon, according to the Indonesian Embassy in Beirut, despite the intensifying Israeli forces' attacks on the country.
"Due to the unpredictable nature of ongoing conflict between Hezbollah and Israel and recent explosions throughout Lebanon, including Beirut, the US Embassy urges US citizens to depart Lebanon while commercial options still remain available," the State Department said in an updated advisory.
Lebanon's Iran-backed Hezbollah movement, which has traded near-daily fire with Israeli forces since the Gaza war broke out in October, announced its fighters had fired a barrage of rockets at Israel's north overnight.
